Walk on the cracks of the same old sidewalks.

I'm feeling nostalgic and I hate it. Thoughts of the past make it so much harder to enjoy the present.

The truth is doubts are all I've got.

Last night I went to see Alkaline Trio and Bayside. I've seen Bayside dozens of times, but it was my first Alkaline Trio show. The venue was a brand new one near Five Points in Denver. The crowd that comes out to shows out here is so diverse -more than just punk kids come out, so I always enjoy people watching. Bayside is a band that has never disappointed me with a live performance, they are just an awesome band that I never fail to get sick of. It was cool to see Alkaline Trio, although they played more new music than older stuff. I'm not a fan of their new album because it reminds me of Less than Jake without the horns. Either way, it was a good show and I'm glad they played a few old songs. Here are two of my favorites.

I'm a wreck without your help.

Eisley's new album Currents came out last week (the week before?) and after a couple listens, this is my favorite track. It suits my mood today because I am back to my regular routine after a crazy month. Thank goodness it's June!

Your perfect verse is just a lie you tell yourself.

Last night I went to see The Postal Service at an amazing venue in Colorado, Red Rocks. It was surreal because I had never seen The Postal Service before and it was my first time at Red Rocks. The show was sold out and fans (including myself) were singing every word as though the album came out yesterday. Ben Gibbard was looking (and sounding) good and I forgot just how much I love Jenny Lewis. It's been a crazy week (Chicago to Denver to Las Vegas then back to Denver), but this concert helped ease my stress.

You're still the one.

Between a major work crisis and a flat tire my positive attitude has been dimishing as the week goes on. It's been a stressful couple of days. When I finally got my car back this afternoon and got on the highway to work this song came on the radio and instantly improved my mood. I am so grateful to have Chris, who continues to be the only person who can keep me calm during stressful moments.

I hope this song cheers you up like it did for me.

I am a marathon runner and my legs are sore.

{And I'm anxious to see what I'm running for}

I've been moving at full speed, burning myself out in order to get through a big event at the end of May. I feel too busy to think! But I need to think! Luckily there have been a few distractions outside of work to calm my stress - family in town and an upcoming trip. I am very much looking forward to the calm of June.

I'm awkward, I'm nervous

All I've been listening to on my commute this week is the new Wonder Years album. To and from work it's on repeat and I'm singing along. Here are my two favorite songs.
